• 1.1 What is Catooh?

With Catooh, multimedia files can be bought or sold online. The catalogue offers high-quality photos, videos, songs, samples effects and other multimedia content with various themes and genres.
Catooh provides owners of MAGIX software with additional working material. This includes high-quality DVD menu templates, MovieShow Maker styles, Soundtrack Maker styles, Song Remix packets, and more for photo, video, and music editing on PC or cell phone.


• 1.2 How can I log into Catooh?

Accessing Catooh is child's play. Once you've registered for free, you'll be able to gain access to all media files straight away.


• 1.3 I forgot my user name and password. What now?

No problem. Your email address is your login. If you have forgotten your password, click on the "Forgot password?" link on the login page.
You will receive an email with instructions on how to create a new password.

• 1.4 How can I change my user data?

You can view and change your user data whenever you like. To do so, simply log in to catooh.com. Here, you'll find all the most important information relating to your Catooh account. To change your data, click on "Change user info" to the left under "Options".

• 2.2 How can I open an mtp file?

Files in mtp format can be opened using the file browser of your MAGIX software, the MAGIX Media Pool. Double-clicking on a file will result in it being automatically installed in the corresponding program folder, available for use in your MAGIX software.


• 2.3 How do I download media from Catooh

You can download the media files you bought from the corresponding download list. The download list can be viewed under the "View bought media files" point in your customer account.


• 2.4 What happens to interrupted downloads?

You can download media files up to two weeks after purchasing them; just go to "Purchased media" in your customer account.

Depending on circumstances problems may arise when trying to download large files; the download might cut off after 1 GB or the downloaded file might not open, for example.

In this case please use an Internet browser or download manager to download instead of your MAGIX program. Free and easy to use download manager add-ons are available for almost every Internet browser.

• 2.5 What do I do with defective downloads?

If the media file you purchase does not work properly, please contact our Support team, referencing the article number. We will make a new download available to you or, if necessary, refund the purchase price.


• 2.6 What methods of payment are accepted?

You can pay using credit card or PayPal.

PayPal can be used for payments upward of 15 USD. Click on the button [Check out with PayPal] during the shopping process to pay using PayPal.


• 2.7 Are there any additional costs for registering and using Catooh?

It doesn't cost anything to register with Catooh. There are no monthly fees or anything of that kind. You only pay the price displayed for the media you buy.


• 2.8 Do I have to secure the media file myself after purchase?

You alone are responsible for the security of your purchased media files. For this reason, we recommend making regular and multiple backup copies every now and then. Catooh will not provide a free replacement should you lose your purchased data.


• 2.9 What can I do with purchased media files?

The scope of your rights of usage depends on the purchase licensing level. Fundamentally, you may purchase Catooh licenses for private and commercial use. Details on the licensing scope can be found in the corresponding licensing conditions. An overview of all licensing levels can be found on the Prices and Licenses page as well as on the shopping cart page. Click on the licensing sign for more information regarding licensing.

3. Selling in Catooh

• 3.1 Who can sell media in Catooh?

Every user of Catooh with a valid customer account is permitted to offer media for sale in the Online Media Marketplace.


• 3.2 How do I sell media?

In the upper navigation area of Catooh select the "Sell" option and follow the instructions. General information on selling media in Catooh can be found in the "Information for Sellers" section. This can be downloaded as a PDF.


• 3.3 What type of media can I sell?

Catooh provides its users with the opportunity to sell pictures, videos, songs, sound effects and instrument loops.


• 3.4 Which formats can I upload for selling?

Depending on the media type, please keep to the following standards:


Pictures
1. Pictures must be submitted in JPEG or TIFF format.
2. Select the best possible quality setting when exporting from your photo software.
3. The minimum resolution for photos is 2 megapixels.
4. Always upload pictures at the highest possible quality available.


Videos
1. Videos can be submitted as Quicktime (MOV) or MPEG (.mpg, .mpv, .m2v)
2. The video codec for Quicktime is MJPEG, quality min. 85%
3. If an audio track exists, the audio codec is to be uncompressed (PCM WAV), stereo, 16-bit, 48 kHz
4. Valid combinations of aspect ratio, field mode, resolution & frame rate can be found in the corresponding overview in the "Information for Sellers" section.


Audio
1. Audio files must be uncompressed wave files.
The rate must be minimum in 44.1 kHz.
The audio signal must be minimum in 16-bit stereo.

Based on your uploaded media, the Catooh system will automatically create previews and lower-quality versions.



• 3.5 Why were my media files rejected?

Media files which do not conform to the technical, legal or content-based standards of Catooh will not be published. To find out more about this, please read the document "Information for sellers". This document can be downloaded as a PDF.


• 3.6 What profit can I make from the sale of my media?

Sellers will receive 50% of the profits made from sold media. This may be subject to tax deductions, currency conversion fees, and fees for payment methods. The current status of your sales and profits can be found in the "Overview" section of your customer account.


• 3.7 How do I get the amount credited to my account?

You can make a withdrawal when you have credit exceeding 50 US Dollars in your account, you can do this by clicking on the "Request Payout" feature in your account. Please make sure that your PayPal details and email address are correct.

Please note that billing and/or cancellations are made at the end of the month, it is recommended that you therefore request any payouts at the start of the month.


• 3.8 To where can I have the credit balance on my account paid out?

The payout of credit may only be carried out using PayPal. In order to be able to receive money from this service, you will need an email address. Make sure that your email address is correctly listed in your user data. To transfer the money to a bank account, you will first have to register for Paypal.
